Marc Cartwright is a Los Angeles based headshot photographer specializing in actor headshots and corporate headshots for clients throughout the greater Los Angeles area. With over 18 years of experience in front of and behind the camera, his approach is grounded in authenticity, collaboration, and a clear understanding of what makes an image effective in professional markets.

He grew up on Long Island’s East End, where his grandparents’ love of classic Hollywood films sparked his lifelong interest in film and visual storytelling.

At 18, Marc moved to New York City to study Mass Media and Human Behavior at NYU. While fulfilling an art requirement, he discovered photography, a medium that combined his interest in people with his fascination for storytelling through imagery.

After graduating, Marc relocated to Los Angeles to pursue acting and built a successful commercial and print career, working with major brands including Coca-Cola and Tommy Hilfiger. His firsthand experience on set gave him direct insight into what casting directors, agents, and producers respond to in professional actor headshots. Over time, he transitioned fully behind the camera, where he found his true creative focus guiding others and shaping images that communicate clearly and professionally.

Today, Marc works with actors, creatives, and business professionals across Los Angeles, creating headshots that read clearly, feel natural, and align with each client’s casting or professional goals. His photography and industry expertise have been featured in publications in the United States and internationally. He is recognized by Backstage Magazine as a headshot photography expert and contributes regularly to their articles on effective actor headshots and industry trends. He works primarily with working actors in film, television, and commercial markets throughout Los Angeles.

From his Studio City studio in Los Angeles, Marc creates cinematic headshots designed to help actors and professionals present themselves confidently and competitively while staying true to who they are.
